Designed to restore the health and comfort of the scalp, Scalp Balance™ is a targeted trichology treatment for guests experiencing scalp conditions without active hair loss.
This customized service focuses on correcting imbalances that can compromise scalp health, including excess sebum, seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, inflammation, psoriasis, dryness, and product buildup. Through professional scalp analysis and condition-specific treatment protocols, the scalp is deeply cleansed, rebalanced, and supported to promote a healthier skin barrier.

What this appointment includes
Hair Confidence Care™ provides professional maintenance for CRLAB CNC systems, toppers and other approved hair replacement solutions.
Depending on your system, the appointment may include cleaning, adhesive removal, scalp cleansing, refitting or rebonding, colour adjustment, precision cutting and styling. Regular maintenance helps preserve a natural appearance and a comfortable fit between visits.

Most guests start with a private consultation. We will listen first, look at your scalp and hair together, and recommend the service that actually fits — including telling you when a treatment is not the right option for you.
Which services are available at the Downtown Chicago location?
Downtown Chicago is a consultation-only location. Three consultations can be booked there: the Hair & Scalp Analysis (Follicle Wellness Discovery), the Advanced Hair & Scalp Analysis (Follicle Wellness Discovery Precision), and the CRLAB CNC Hair System consultation. All treatments, system fittings and maintenance take place at the Deerfield studio at 707 Lake Cook Rd, Suite 118, Deerfield, IL 60015.
Do I need a consultation before booking a treatment?
Yes. Every treatment is selected around your individual scalp condition, so all new guests begin with a consultation. This applies especially to the Advanced Hair & Scalp Wellness Program (Advanced Follicle Regeneration), which cannot be booked online on its own. Because it is a personalized, multi-session plan, it is built from the findings of your Hair & Scalp Analysis (Follicle Wellness Discovery). Once your Hair Follicle Wellness Roadmap is complete, HairLab Chicago will confirm whether the program is the right next step and schedule it with you directly.
Should I book the Follicle Wellness Collection or the Hair Confidence Collection?
If your concern is scalp health, thinning or shedding and you want to understand what is happening, start with the Follicle Wellness Discovery™. If you are looking for coverage now through a topper, hair system or the CRLAB CNC system, start with the Hair Confidence Discovery™. Many guests eventually use both — we can coordinate the two appointments.
CNC hair system or a topper — which should I choose?
It depends on how much coverage you want, how personalized you’d like it to be, and how soon you want to start. Book the Hair Confidence Discovery consultation to explore custom toppers, partial hair systems and wigs. These add coverage or volume, are typically removable, and usually have a shorter wait, with many options fitted and taken home sooner. Book the Hair Confidence Signature consultation for the CRLAB CNC system, a fully personalized non-surgical hair system that is 3D-mapped to your scalp and customized down to color, texture, density and style, designed to stay secure through everyday activities. Because each CNC system is handcrafted in Italy, it is made to order rather than fitted the same day. If you are unsure, start with the Hair Confidence Discovery and the HairLab team will recommend the right solution.
What is a trichologist?
A trichologist is a specialist trained in the health of the hair and scalp. At HairLab Chicago, the trichologist reviews your hair history, lifestyle and scalp condition, uses scalp imaging and microscopic follicle evaluation, and builds a personalized Hair Follicle Wellness Roadmap. A trichologist focused on supporting scalp health rather than diagnosing or treating medical conditions.
